The Firm

Our Client, a Top Tier City Law Firm, is seeking a junior to mid-level Non-Contentious Construction Associate to join their expanding Construction and Infrastructure Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction lawyer who enjoys working with and advising a diverse range of clients on live projects.

 

The Role and Responsibilities

Reporting into the Construction Partner, the Construction Associate will be part of a small team, advising and acting for a wide range of national and international commercial entities. Key responsibilities include advising on:

  • JCT & NEC3 contracts
  • Energy contracts
  • Service/maintenance and framework agreements
  • Dealing with funding and financing agreements
  • Security documentation including advance payment bonds
  • Joint venture agreements
  • Advising on risk allocation
  • Finalising contract negotiations
  • Dealing with warranty documents, performance bonds and guarantees
  • Advising / due diligence for various project work
  • Providing procurement strategy and advice on general legal, commercial, financial risks
  • Examples of High Value projects in the UK and overseas include;
    • Skyscrapers
    • Power Projects & Infrastructure
    • Sustainable development
    • Renewable Energy
    • Hospitals and Universities, hospitals
    • Stadiums

You and the Requirements

It is essential that the candidate is UK qualified, at a junior to mid-level.

This is an excellent opportunity for a City or Legal 500 trained lawyer who is keen to further develop their technical expertise within a sort after, collegiate and highly skilled team.

You will have a self-starter, innovative and passionate approach. Keen to build relationships with your colleagues and clients. Solid experience within Construction law, but also a keen eye for stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
