As the Senior Researcher at TAP Search, I thought I’d take this opportunity to tell you about some of the work I’ve been involved in recently. My team and I have been busy putting together the framework for our annual Salary Survey, the results of which we will be publishing in a few weeks’ time. I am most grateful to everyone who is kindly taking the time to complete our questionnaire – I’m looking forward to reading your responses and having a look at the results. If you haven’t had a chance to fill it in (which takes less than a minute), you’ll find a link to the questionnaire at the bottom of the page. Your responses are key to helping us produce some really useful information about the state of the legal market and to inform you about current market trends at national, regional and city level. We will also be able to provide information about what’s happening within specific sectors at this exciting time.
From what we’ve seen so far, there has been a real increase in the number lawyers working on a temporary, or interim basis, which has been benefitting legal teams and interims alike. But I would like to hold off on releasing our findings until we have further data. Your input helps us on a micro level and whilst we wait for your results, the team and I are focusing on macro-economic factors, both here in the UK and on an international basis.
One thing is certain, there is clearly something to be said for the interim. As businesses and individuals continue to operate in a faster and more efficient way, the interim continues to supplement and add value, whilst gaining the flexibility that they so reverently seek. I must confess, I am fairly new to all this. In the same way, I too had become caught up in a routine and really wanted to try something different. Speaking from experience, I encourage you to consider doing the same. I am so pleased to be here and I can’t wait to see what the next few months have in store.
